Adirondack Solar Alliance

In 2021 a group of students from Queensbury, New York formed the Adirondack Solar Alliance with the mission of providing affordable and independent energy in Puerto Rico.

In April of 2023, the Adirondack Solar Alliance in partnership with Let’s Share the Sun will install an array on a not-for-profit nursing home in the rural mountain town of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico.

The site “Hogar Cabecitas de Oro” hosts 16 elderly residents through the Puerto Rico Department of Family system. They provide 24-hour nursing, and therapy services, operate a community volunteer program and have a refuge open to all in times of emergency and natural disaster.

The solar array and battery backup will cut costs, eliminate outages, and power the refuge during extended outages. Any support to cover the balance of system costs is greatly appreciated.
